Within the high-end consumer smartphone market, it's unambiguously a two-horse race between Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL ) and Samsung. On the enterprise and government side of things, the top two smartphone vendors still have their work cut out for them. BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY ) still has a grip on those subsectors, but the Canadian smartphone maker is slipping.
The Wall Street Journal has heard rumblings that Samsung is about to score two orders from U.S. government agencies. The FBI and Navy might be able to order up some Galaxies in what would be the South Korean giant's first contracts after getting its devices approved by the Department of Defense a few months ago.
Samsung has put a lot of weight behind developing Knox, its security suite that sets it apart from its Google Android brethren. Knox sits on top of Google's platform as a separate layer of security features to appeal to enterprise and government users.

The fact that Boeing's offer was rejected and it is currently missing out on the $7.7 billion contract is bad enough. The real slap in the face, though, is that Boeing's bid was the only offer under South Korea's initial budget and was still dismissed.

Currently, three main companies supply security equipment to the TSA - Safran (SAFRY.PK), Smiths (SMGKF.PK), and Level-3 Holdings (LLL). All three of these companies sell the whole range of their products to the TSA, with an ETD offering included. Recently, however, a new company, Implant Sciences Corporation (IMSC.PK) received approval from the TSA to begin selling their ETD equipment to airport security professionals. At Rolls-Royce (RYCEY), new CEO John Rishton had a busy and fruitful start to his tenure. Most importantly, Rishton began to focus Rolls on areas where the company stood to improve, including cash generation, cost structure and customer service. He also successfully extracted the company from its legacy narrow body civil engine joint-venture with Pratt & Whitney (IAE) for an attractive price, positioned Rolls as exclusive supplier for the Airbus A350-1000, further secured the company�� strong position on the A350 program, and closed the tricky Tognum acquisition which will begin to bear fruit in 2012. According to the DSCA, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT ) will be the prime contractor on this sale, which is valued at $588 million. It would involve not only the sale of the planes per se, but also eight Rolls Royce (NASDAQOTH: RYCEY ) AE 2100D3 engines for the four-engine planes, and two spare engines, plus modifications to be made on the planes, radio equipment and other accessories, technical documentation, three years of training, and related logistics services.
